Hood Up

A male Hooded Merganser swims right in front of me as I laid on the ground along the edge of the pond. I arrived a bit before sunrise to see this fella as well as about 10 other Hoodies on the pond so it was very enjoyable to watch them swim about and interact for almost an hour before this guy swam close to me for this photo. They kept me entertained all morning long. Taken at Palmyra Cove Nature Park in southern New Jersey. via 500px RayHennessy http://ift.tt/1NSnGhF

Scaup Wings

A Lesser Scaup (I believe) makes a pass by the wall at Oakley Street in Cambridge Maryland. These handsome ducks are incredibly fast and fun to try to capture in flight resulting in many missed shots and the occasional one that works. via 500px RayHennessy http://ift.tt/1N3D4aJ

A Winter Wonderland in Spring

Coming back from a disappointing trip from the ocean to see the sunrise - totally overcast - the sky started clearing and I was greeted by this scene a few blocks from home. The ducks were nice enough to pose! :) via 500px kevinreynolds_4 http://ift.tt/1B0NL6i

Leaving at Twilight

During the day, a couple hundred Canadian Geese swam lazily around a small pond. At twilight, they left in small groups. via 500px paulsikorski http://ift.tt/1FhQAX4
