It has been two years since I photographed the burrowing owls. I decided to take a trip down yesterday morning to capture some images. The nest was very active, the pair is raising 4 babies. It looks like they are ready to fledge in the near future. via 500px troylimphotography http://ift.tt/1HmRsJL

Male Red Bellied Woodpecker
I thought that I'd give everyone a break from my waterfowl images. This a full frame portrait shot of a Red-Bellied Woodpecker taken near the Niagara River. This species does not normally occur in Ottawa although some are seen at feeders occassionally. I was happy that I finally got a few nice images of this species thanks to fellow 500px members Bill McCormack and Scott Dodgson. via 500px stephenjstephen7 http://ift.tt/1D9ndGg
